4 Months

Averie is four months old! I can't believe it. We love this little girl so much. I can't imagine life without her. Her shots went much better this time around. She only cried for a few minutes and then she was all smiles again. Such a tough little thing. Here are her four month stats:

Weight: 13 pounds 4 ounces 40th Percentile
Height: 25 inches 77th Percentile
Head Circumference: 16.4 inches 71st Percentile

We just can't get enough of her. But can you blame us?Here are a few things she has been up to lately:
She is getting so observant. She is fascinated by everything. She has found her feet. She loves to grab hold of her big toes and try to put them in her mouth. She thinks this is hilarious.

She loves going to the pool. Even though in the picture she looks a little freaked out.She is getting so loud. She loves to screech and squeal. We love to hear her stories.
She loves her new jumperoo. She is starting to figure out how to jump and push the buttons on it.Her favorite time is bath time. Even if she is in the worst mood, she will smile during bath time. She really likes to stand up in the tub too. She feels like such a big girl! She finally rolled over for the first time a few days ago. I had her on her stomach and she was resting on her elbows. All of the sudden she just flipped herself onto her back. It scared her so bad that she started crying. It probably was a fluke. She hasn't really tried to do it again since.

She loves her daddy. I love this picture of her using Daddy's ears as handles. So cute! She does NOT like rice cereal. We decided that we were going to try it out on her birthday. She pulled some really funny faces. I'm pretty sure she gagged the entire time because she thought it was so gross. We will have to try again in a month or so.
Before the cereal. She doesn't even know what she is in for.Ew Mom, gross! She didn't cry, but she looked like she was on the verge the entire time. Poor little thing!
Averie loves to suck on her upper lip and stick her bottom lip out. It is so adorable. I have yet to get a good picture of her doing it, but this one is pretty funny.
Lately I have been having a really hard time getting a picture of her smiling. I think it has something to do with the fact that her hands are ALWAYS in her mouth. She loves to put anything and everything in her mouth. I have a feeling this is going to get worse before it gets better. I am going to have to sanitize everything. There we go! There's a smile!

Averie loves to kick her feet and swing her arms. She has always done this, but it seems like lately she is turbo charged when she does it.

Well that is all I can think of for now. Having a four month old is so fun. I love this stage. I am sure it just gets better from here, but if she never grew a day older I wouldn't mind.

Well Howdy howdy howdy

My sister, Kylee and her husband went up to Jackson this weekend and left the boys with my parents. I thought it would be a good time for all of us to get out of the house and go see the animals at Thanksgiving Point. Issac and Evan just loved it. They were so excited to sit on the "wheelchair".
Averie wasn't quite as excited to sit on it, but we got a pic anyway.
The boys just loved the baby chicks. It was so funny while we were watching these little guys one of them ran full speed into the side of the wall. I don't know where it thought it was going, but it was pretty surprised when it hit that wall. The first stop was feeding this guy. I don't think it was a lama, but it looked like one so that is what I am going to call it. It was pretty eager to get the corn from us. He took a nip at my dads arm when we walked by. He was pretty selfish too. Every time the sheep came near us to get some corn, he would chase them away.
Next up was the pony rides. Evan looked like this the entire ride. He LOVED it. He kept waving and saying, "Howdy, howdy, howdy!" What a silly kid. Here's Issac. He rode all by himself.Check out this guy! I don't know how he sees through that hair!
The last stop was the pig pen. Oh my it was smelly. I really had to hold my nose while we were over there. They are such disgusting creatures. Each one would go to the water to go to the bathroom. Then they would get a drink. It was disgusting. Amazing that they are so close to humans anatomically. Here the boys are in "jail".
Twinner Cousins. So glad I didn't have twins. It would be so hard to always have your arms full. These two would make it easy though. They are such good babies!
Our cute little family.
Grandma and Grandpa and the "three little pigs". Ha ha. Those are pig ears on the kids if you can't tell.
Averie was so tuckered out. I can't wait until she is a little older and actually notices the animals. She didn't seem to care much about them this time around. Maybe next year.

I know, I know

It's been awhile. I have been wanting to post for a couple of weeks now, but honestly I have been a little depressed. Who wants to post when they are feeling that way? All you end up doing is complaining and that is no fun to look back on. So I promised myself that I wasn't going to post anything until I could think of something positive to write about. Well I couldn't believe I thought I didn't have anything positive to write about. Afterall I have this amazing little girl.
And this amazing man is my husband. And even though my job is the reason I have been depressed, at least I have one. I am lucky to be able to work where I do, and even though I hate being away from Averie it is a great job. Plus I have been fortunate enough to have my mom watching Averie for me. She is so great with her and it just puts me at ease knowing she is with her grandma. I am dreading having to take her to daycare in a couple of weeks.
So anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know, that we are still alive and all is well. Averie turns 4 months next week and I can't wait to do her big "birthday" post. She has changed so much and I can't wait to tell you all about it! Until then, I will put a smile on my face and be grateful for life's challenges.

Pioneer Day and Caleb's Blessing

So you may be getting sick of the mixed posts, but there is so much to keep up on lately and this is the easiest way so you will just have to deal with it!
First off, Real Soccer Game,
For the 24th this year we were lucky enough to score free tickets to the Real Soccer game. I was pretty resistant to go at first. Soccer is not exactly my sport of choice, and I've actually never even seen a game before. Since it was free, we made our way to Rio Tinto Stadium to see what all the fuss was about. Plus there were fireworks after the show. I was actually pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed the game. On the one side there was an entire section whose job was to be loud, energetic, and crazy the entire game. I was so entertained watching them that I didn't even notice how boring the game was. Ha ha, it wasn't that bad, but really how lame is a game that ends in a 1-1 score. Really? A tie? Anyway, Averie was good the entire game. She started out taking a nap for the majority of the time, but later woke up and was happy as could be. She surprised me during the fireworks. I was trying to keep her all covered and protected when Brian told me to let her watch. I didn't think there was anyway that she would be able to see them let alone have them catch her attention. She stared the entire show at the fireworks. She was totally amazed. It was such a blast and we might go again if the tickets are free...Maybe...

Secondly, if you think Averie is cute, wait til you see her cousin Caleb.
Is he not just the cutest little boy? That nose! Those eyes! That hair! Those lips! Oh I just want to eat him up! Well it was his blessing today and I was so glad that we were able to be there. See I am just the worst Aunt in the world and for reasons I can't remember, I missed both Evan's and Issac's blessings. I was not going to miss this little guy's.I had to take a pic of the cousins. They both were like, "What the heck are you doing to us?"Here is my freakishly large baby. Just kidding, but holy crap kiddo! You make Caleb look like a newborn! Averie is getting so chunky and I love it. It's ok that strangers think she's six months old. At least you know she is not going hungry!Does it bother anyone that it is August 1? Where did the summer go? Only a few weeks left.
