We nearly missed it, but we finally got ourselves up the canyon to take some pictures of the fall colors. Don't worry, most of the leaves were on the ground, but they did make a nice background.

Time to catch up
Life has been crazy and I have been MIA in the blogging world. Things have been so chaotic with work and a busy 2 year old makes it almost impossible to have time to myself. I don't mind though, just look at this little angel.
Averie is one fun little girl. I feel bad that I have neglected all you from the last few months with her. She is quite the talker and has such a fun personality. The tantrums have slowed down a bit...Thank Goodness! She still has her moments, but the fun Averie definitely outweighs the other side.
We have been up to some fun adventures this summer. One of the things you all should go do if you haven't already is take a visit over to Kennecott. The mine is literally 10 minutes from my house and we have never been there in the past 5 years. We decided to finally take a trip to the mine to see it up close and personal. It is a pretty incredible site.
This was one of Averie;s "questionable days". She was ok, but site seeing wasn't the most exciting thing for a 2 year old.
Can we go home yet Mom?
The huge tires of the trucks up at the mine.
Our attempt to get a picture of Averie by the tire.
One thing Averie loved at the mine was the site seeing viewers. She liked them almost a little too much.
This summer we found a great four wheeling trail right by our house. It is awesome because we don't have to load the quads up and go anywhere. I didn't take any pics of the ride, but I did snap a couple of Little Miss before take off.
Our most recent adventure was the trip to the zoo. We haven't taken Averie this year so I was totally excited to take her to see all the animals that she talks about all the time. Little tid bit of advise, don't go to the zoo at the end of September. Don't go at 1:00. There were so many people I thought I was going to have an anxiety attack! Plus the kids are ruthless! Averie would wait patiently by the windows waiting to see the animals and just as we got close enough to see anything, kids would just push in front of her! Urgh. I just wanted to push them out of the way. Haha. Like I said, don't go to the zoo when there are 3 million people there. A.W.F.U.L.
I love that Averie is starting to "pose" for pictures. No more screaming and crying when she sees the camera! Yay!
Averie loved the Sea Lions. We sat and watch them for probably 20 minutes. There were two that were playing and jumping all over the place. They were by far the most exciting part of the zoo.
My little Teddy Bear.
Oh Averie, how I love your facial expressions.
Making a fort in the family room.
"Give em the face Dargent. Pose"
"Dargent!! Don't Kiss!"
Yes, I really am this cute!
Awwww! Best Friends. It might be more one sided on Averie's part, but how could Sergeant not like the attention?
Well that was a quick update, but I just wanted to let everyone know that we are alive and well. I hope everyone had a great summer!

5 Years, Happily Ever After
This post is very late, but better late than never! Brian and I reached our FIVE year anniversary on May 8th. I love Brian more than anything in this world. I have loved our many years together and I can only dream for many more to come. I remember our wedding like it was yesterday. It was one of the best days of my life. Everything went perfectly.
Don't we look young?!?
I honestly did not expect much for our Anniversary because it was on a Tuesday. Side note, we were married on a Tuesday, how cool is that? Anyway, I got home from work and Brian had the entire evening planned. I came home to these:
I am a sucker for red roses. They were gorgeous and they smelled wonderful. Brian lined up a babysitter for Averie and made reservations at Log Haven up Millcreek Canyon.
The food was amazing. If you haven't been, GO! The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is great. I am so lucky to be married to such a wonderful, romantic man.
Speaking of romance, I'm not trying to brag, but I have to show you my gift. I have been asking for a wedding band for 5 years to go with my wedding ring. My hope was to get a band for our five year and a band for our ten year. Don't get me wrong, my ring is gorgeous. I have just always wanted the bands to go with it. Here is my ring before:
Brian and I went and looked at rings and it was so much fun! It was like getting engaged all over again. Only this time we had a wild toddler in the showroom. Thank you Jared for having a play room for kids. BRILLIANT. Well after looking at several bands I was a little discouraged, nothing looked right with my ring. I started to think that maybe my ring was not designed to have bands with it. Well we ended up finding the perfect band for the ring. It was perfect. We started talking about getting another band in 5 more years and we were informed that "it would be very difficult to match this particular band". Of course it would. Spoiled brat me had to have both matching bands. This is how it turned out:
Isn't it gorgeous? I am still trying to get used to it. It is a little more than I was going for, but the bands completely complement the main ring. There, bragging over. Sorry, couldn't help myself!I just feel so fortunate to have such a wonderful husband. He made this Anniversary completely memorable. I LOVE YOU BRI!
