Averie's First Camping Trip

So this month has been a little crazy for us. We just bought a new house in Herriman and decided to rent out our town home. If that wasn't excitement enough, we decided to go on a four day camping trip down to Bryce Canyon! Horrible timing, but oh so fun! Here is the whole group. Brian's parents, and his brother, Matt, and his family. We went down with Brian's family and camped right at the entrance of Bryce Canyon. It was such a beautiful area! Unfortunately, it rained every day. It was very weird weather the entire trip. It would PORE for about 20 minutes and then it would clear right up. Brian and I got caught in a pretty nasty thunderstorm while we were out on a four wheeler ride. One minute we were just enjoying all the beautiful scenery, then the next we were drenched from head to toe! Here are some pics from the trip:

My hottie husband and Miss AvaLooAverie and Grandma AndersonAverie was pretty good given the conditions. She had really just barely started walking, so I was amazed at how well she did. She slept great in the Pack and Play.So if you ever want to make your one year old happy, give them a sucker! There is one disclaimer though. You have to be ok with sticky hands and a messy messy face! Averie was introduced to her first sucker. At first she didn't know what to do, but her cousin, Aspen, helped her out.Yum! She was entertained for about an hour! It was awesome. I was having a little bit of a fit with the messiness. I definitely wouldn't recommend suckers while camping. We finally made it into Bryce Canyon to enjoy the sites. They were spectacular!

I couldn't believe some of the cliffs. I was pretty nervous that they didn't have them fenced off. Brian didn't seem to mind though.

Sergeant was in heaven the entire trip. He loves being up in the mountains. We found this huge tree with the center rotted out while we were hiking. We tried for about 20 minutes to get Sergeant to crawl through it. He is such a chicken. It took him forever, but he finally was brave enough and crawled through.
Here are a couple of shots of the fam minus Averie. She was with Grandma.

We had such a wonderful trip. It was much needed rest and relaxation to balance out all the craziness that has been this month. I hope everyone is having as good as a summer as us!

Life as we know it...

Is completely passing us by! I am usually pretty good about blogging, but things have been so chaotic lately. I can't believe July is almost over. I will try to do a few posts to get caught up, but for now I just wanted to post about this sweet girl!
Averie has been such a joy and at times, and others, a little stinker! She has really figured out how to test my patience lately. She was such a quiet easy baby. She is hitting her "terrible two" phase a little early! I know most of Averie's dilemma comes from the fact that life has been crazy the past month or two. With me starting my new job and moving, I am sure she has just felt out of sorts. Now that we are all moved in (well sorta), I'm sure she will calm down a little bit.

Averie has started talking a lot more lately. It is so adorable. Here is a video of her saying Thank you!

She doesn't quite get the concept, but at least she is polite! Averie says, "Dargen (Seargent), Up, All Done, Bear, Kitty, Doggy, Uh Oh, Mommy, Dadda, Papa, Baba". The rest of the things she babbles sounds like Chinese. When she plays she has entire conversations with herself. It is so crazy that she has her own little language.

We have been loving the summer with this little one. Last year we didn't do very much because she was still pretty young. I will post more about some of our adventures later, but here are some pics of some of the festivities. We were playing croquet at my parents house. Averie wanted to play too. Sitting on the back deck at my parents.Hanging out on the front yard in her swimming suit getting ready to go swimming. This girly loves to be in the pool. One of these days she will figure out how to make the zebra "go". She gets pretty frustrated unless you push her around.
I love this little girl so much. She's not a baby any more! Life just keeps getting better and better!
