I did it!

6 months BABY! I am getting closer and closer every week!

I wish I could say, "Oh this is going by too fast!" but really I am not the most patient person in the world. If I had it my way, we would only be pregnant for six months. I mean do we really need 9 (well actually 10) months to prepare? Well I guess it is a good thing I still have a few more months because we are not completely ready. I am enjoying this stage much more than the first 5 months though. I am not puking nearly as much as I was. I love the feeling of feeling her move around in my belly. It is the most amazing feeling. She is a very active little girl. Come on Volleyball player! It is funny to see how her personality is developing even though she hasn't even been born. For example, she hates the ultrasound machine/doppler. Everytime I have had an ultrasound she turns her back to the probe. Which explains why I do not have a single good ultrasound picture of her. Whenever they check the heart rate in the office she starts kicking and moving like crazy. It is so funny because it is so loud on the doppler and they always have a hard time finding the heartbeat. She also is following her dad's suit with being a night owl. I'm sure a lot of babies are this way but I like to compare her to her daddy. She really starts getting active around 8-9 o'clock at night. She likes to bounce off my bladder about 4 times a night so I am constantly up. She usually sleeps in because I don't start feeling her until about 10am. (I hope that trend stays)
Now if only we had a name for her! Naming a child is very hard! I always had my "names" growing up, but its amazing how quick my mind has changed on them. Right now we have two names picked out, but we can't decide! I just keep waiting for some revelation to tell me that "yes, that is the name", but nothing... We may have to just wait until she is born before we decide.
Well I could honestly bla bla bla all day about being pregnant so I will cut it short. Its just such a neat experience and I would highly recommend it:) Ha ha. Only 16 weeks to go!

Merry Christmas to All!

Well how was everyone's Christmas? We had a very good one this year. Every year we spend Christmas Eve at Brian's parents and Christmas at my parents. It is awesome because we get to see everyone and we get to have two Christmases. :) We spent Christmas Eve morning playing games, eating and opening gifts. My niece, Cierra, brought her sugar glider with her to Grandma's. I had never in my life seen one of these! They are like a mix between a hamster and a flying squirel. My emphasis on the flying squirel. Here I am holding the cute little thing when two seconds later...

It's on my head!

Kinda freaked me out. But still cute nonetheless. This year Brian really spoiled me! Well he always spoils me, but this year I was especially spoiled. He got me this awesome new camera!

I really wanted a nice camera so that we can take lots and lots of pictures of our little girl. I didn't have any idea what camera I wanted, but I think Brian did an awesome job picking this one out. I love it! He even got me some free photography classes so that I can figure out out to use it. I have started taking pictures of everything to try to get the hang of it so hopefully the classes will help. Well I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and have a Happy New Year!

Happy Anniversary of Sorts

Three years ago today Brian and I went to go see the Christmas lights at Temple Square, went on a romantic carriage ride, and ended up 'officially' starting our lives together. I can't believe it has been three years since Brian proposed to me. It has been the most amazing three years too. We have made so many memories together and there are many more to come. One of our favorite traditions is going to see the Christmas Lights. We have gone every year since we started dating, with the exception of the year Brian was in Iraq. I think that is why it was so special that he proposed where he did. I love this man with all of my heart and I can't wait for the future years to come and share with him. This year we went to see the lights with my Andy, AmyLyn, Ryan and his girlfriend Holly.

The night was perfect. We didn't freeze too bad and we finished the evening at my house with Hot Chocolate and Cinnamon Rolls. Here are some more pictures of the evening:

Even though I hate the freezing cold weather, Christmas time really is such a special time of year. I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I hope that everyone enjoys their holiday with their families and has a wonderful and safe Holiday!

Ugly Sweater Party

Christmas time is one of my favorite times of the year. I love spending time with family and friends. This year Brian and I went to an "Ugly Sweater Party". The idea was to find the most hideous Christmas sweater and wear it out for a night of dining and bowling. You would think it would be easy to find something "ugly" at the store right? Nope. After a couple of hours of searching, my friends Lyndsey and Valarie gave up and settled for some "semi ugly" long sleeve shirts we found at Walmart. Next time I will be sure to go to D.I. because I am sure we would have found our treasure there. All I could find for Brian was a Snoopy T-shirt. The shirt said " I put the cool in Christmas" Ha ha. I thought he really made it classy with the collared shirt underneath and the top hat. Here is Valarie and I. We had matching shirts and I sported the beautiful wreath design and she wore the Christmas tree.
This is Lyndsey and her husband, Mike. Lyndsey also wore a matching shirt with Santa on it. Mike was very proud of his bow tie and Lyndsey was very proud that she tied it. Thank you You Tube!Lyndsey and I found these great socks at JCPenny. Of course we had to roll our pants up so everyone could check them out.

Oh and word to the wise...Bowling is not that comfortable when you are 22 weeks pregnant. I felt like my belly was ripping in half. I think I got an 85. At least I broke 50! Needless to say, I sat out the second game and Brian got to bowl for me. Well I hope everyone has a safe and Merry Christmas! Enjoy the Holidays!

Guess Who's Half Way?

Can you believe I am 20 weeks already? I sure can, but for those of you that think, "Wow, it's going by so fast!" I thought I would give you the official Half Way Milestone Update. First things first, here is my belly:
I can't believe how much it has changed in the last two weeks. Brian teases me that my belly button isn't going to be an innie much longer. It's already half out. I wonder if I am getting too big too fast, but I don't care. I love it. I love seeing the transition of my body (for the most part).
Right now I feel great. I still throw up once in a while, but nothing like before. I just keep thinking how amazing it is that I have a child growing inside me. There is no feeling in this world that I can compare this to. I guess you really have to experience pregnancy to know what I am talking about. There is just a joy inside me and I am so grateful to have this little girl coming. I just wish that she would get here fast, I am already getting impatient. Only20 more weeks :)

Opinions Please

I am trying to pick out bedding for the nursery and I am having a hard time making a decision. I have narrowed it down to two :) I really wanted to make the bedding, but fabric is sooo expensive and I haven't been able to find the exact fabric that I want. Plus there is all that work involved. This is what the room looks like now:My original plan was to go with bedding that wouldn't require me painting the room. I did this room a few months back and I love the way it turned out. I really don't want to paint it again.

I like this one, but it would require painting the room. Plus it is a lot cheaper.
This is my favorite. It is exacty what I envisioned when I was planning on making it myself. The only problem is, it is custom made which = very expensive$. I guess its not too bad considering some of the sets I have seen for over 300$, but we don't even have bedding in our bedroom that is as expensive as this set.
The think I like about this set is that you can change the fabric color if you want like this:
Anyway, help me decide! Which one, which one? Paint the room? Spend more money?

Guilty

Yup...On Friday night I joined 15 year old girls everywhere and stood in line for an hour to see New Moon. Am I ashamed? Nope. Did I LOVE the movie? Not really, but that could be just because out of the 4 books, New Moon was my least favorite. It was fun to see the book come to life, but of course the movie is never as good as the book. And P.S. they really should have potty breaks during the movie for us pregger women. Gees, maybe that's why I didn't love the movie! Anyway, I am just curious what my fellow Twilight fans thought. Did you like it? What was your favorite part? Let me guess, all the shirtless hunks. Am I right? *wink!*

Horray It looks better!

Well its not exactly fixed yet, but at least it is where it is supposed to be...the BACKGROUND...Thanks for the tips. I think now if I can figure out how to get rid of the white background on my title I will be in good shape.

OK all you Smarty Pants

Does anyone have any idea how to fix my blog? I have been pulling my hair out all night! Why, OH WHY, is my background only in the middle of the page? I am out of ideas...Anybody got some?

Is there something in there?

Ok for those of you that don't like reading about pregnancy, you better stop viewing my blog for a few months. Sorry, but this is what I want to post about! So today I had my first "stranger belly observer" encounter. I was at work and this nurse was looking at me and said, "Oh you have the cutest little belly!" It took me a second to realize that she was in fact talking to me and complimenting my now blatantly obvious bump. No more wondering if people just think I'm a little chunky. I guess the belly speaks for itself now!

The Verdict is In

Brian and I couldn't wait any longer and we decided to go get an Ultra Sound today to find out what the sex was of our little baby. I was 110% sure we were having a BOY, but boy was I wrong! Its aGIRL!

Here are some Pictures of our little sweetie. She looks like an alien in some of these, but I think she is an adorable alien.
Oh I was so wrong about her being a boy, but I am so excited that she is a girl!

Murder Mystery X2

This year for Halloween, Brian and I wanted to do something different. We got invited to a couple of Murder Mystery Parties. If you haven't ever done one, you really should. It was so much fun! The first one we did was with my friends, Brynn, Carlee and Reece. They did such an awesome job! The decorations were awesome and all the costumes were fabulous. I can't believe the work that went into this party. They even took group pictures like prom. It was so fun. When I get the pictures, I will be sure to post them. The theme was Medieval so this is a picture of "Sir Rufus" and "Maid Medusa".
Brian actually was the one murdered in the story. Here he is lying dead. Don't worry though, he only had to lay there for a minute and then he got to sit and watch.

The second party that we went to was up in Logan with our friends, Bryce and Amber. They also did a Murder Mystery Party. It was such a blast. They put so much work into the food, decorations, and the games involved. For this party Brian was the "Mayor" and I was "Ms Shugga Ann Flower-The Chef". Oh an P.S. I was the murderer. You would never suspect anyone as sweet and Ms. Shugga to commit such a heinous crime, but wha ha ha! I did it! I wish I would have taken more pictures, but at least I got one of us. Isn't Brian's costume great? It turned out so good!

Here are some pictures of this year's Jack-O-Lanterns. I don't know if you can tell what mine is, but it is supposed to be a pregnant Jack-O-Lantern. I know, kinda dumb, but also creative :) Brian got pretty creative too with the vomit looking guts coming out the mouth. Lets not talk about how much I wanted to vomit cleaning these puppies out. Yep folks, 16 weeks and still puking...E.V.E.R.Y. D.A.Y.
Happy Halloween All!

Burp Cloth Pattern

Here is the link for the burp cloth pattern. I didn't follow the instructions though. I cut the two contrasting fabrics out to match the pattern, but I also cut a quilting batting to give them more thickness. I sewed all three pieces together like a pillow (batting, two fabrics right sides together) leaving a small gap to turn the fabric right sides out. I ironed the cloth flat at this point and sewed a zig zag stitch around the outside border to close the small gap and give them a nice finished look. Sorry I am bad at giving instructions. I should have taken pictures as I went, but you never think of that when you are doing it. Anyway, there ya go for those of you that want the pattern. Happy sewing!

Shootin' Guns and Burpin' Cloths

I know Random title, but it's been a random weekend. Brian and I tried to do the whole "lets go up the canyon and take pictures of all the leaves", but we were about 2 weeks too late. The leaves were brown and mostly on the ground. I was bummed, but luckily we took the gun with us to do some shooting. Of course Sergeant had to come with us and he loved being outside. Didn't love the target shooting so much, but at least we were only using pellets instead of real bullets so it wasn't too loud for him. The weather was so nice and it was the perfect day to go up there. Our first stop was at the top of the mountain. We live right by Kinicot Mine. (Not sure if that's how you spell it) It is amazing looking down into that thing. It is so crazy how big it is. Sergeant kept trying to go down the hill and I was so freaked out that we wouldn't be able to go after him because it was so steep. Luckily he always came running back.
This is just be torturing my dog. It was so funny we put the scope cover over his eye and he didn't mind it one bit.
Here Brian is lining up his shot. There is just something about a guy shooting a gun. Mmm mmm mmm!
Here I am trying to hold this heavy thing up. I couldn't lay on my belly because its getting kind of uncomfortable now so I tried doing it sitting. Notice how concerned Sergeant is.
Just another one of Sargie and I.
So now moving on to the Burpin' Cloths portion of my post. Funny story, I decided to make a bunch of burp cloths this weekend. I went to my mom's house and she helped me sew a whole bunch of them. I got home and went to show Brian and he said, "What are the giant maxi-pads for?" HA HA. I just about died. You have to understand that Brian is new to all this baby stuff. When I explained that they were for the baby for after you burp them and to protect your clothing from the spit up. He looked puzzled and said, "they puke that much?" Oh it is going to be so much fun when this little guy/or girl gets here. Here are the ones I made.
They are so easy to make so if anyone needs a pattern or instructions let me know. Thanks again Mom for your help, I love them!

Sorry no pictures, just my thoughts today!

I don't really have anything too exciting to blog about. The baby news the last blog has been the most exciting thing in our lives right now! The excitement is setting in and the anxiety as well. It is crazy to think that in just three weeks I am going to know the gender of this little one. Although, I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure it is a boy! Did anyone else out there have "a feeling" about what they were carrying and they were right? I've heard that the mother always knows, but you really have a 50/50 chance so who knows. I guess we will just have to wait and see. I really don't have a preference. I would love to have either one. I would love to tell you that the second trimester is already treating me well, but I still have been throwing up about every other day. But hey, at least its not EVERY DAY now! It has made working a little tricky. I recently was transferred to work up in Salt Lake and it has been interesting trying to act like everything is fine after I run to the rest room 4 or 5 times before 9 o'clock. At least working at American Fork everyone was so understanding and knew that I was pregnant so I was given the sympathy card a lot-which made me feel better. Working in a new environment, I am still trying to prove myself and make a good first impression. I don't want anyone to think that I am less capable to do my job just because I'm pregnant. Of course I am sure everyone is understanding, but its just the over achiever in me trying not to let the pregnancy affect my work. Although, the truth is it DOES affect my work. My every thought is surrounded by my little baby. Constantly running names through my head, nursery ideas. I can't help it, I'm SO EXCITED! 6 more months of baby building and I will be on my way to a nice 12 weeks vacation with the newest little member of our family. I can't wait.

Latest Project

After a few painting projects I have decided to venture back into the sewing world and make a bag. So I have always wanted to make a bag. I got busy the last few weeks and came up with this one:
Its a pretty good size bag and it has a lot of pockets and compartments to store things. I guess now I will need to buy some of these:
And as long as I am getting those, I better get some of these:
And this:
Because ya'll should know that I certainly didn't just spend hours and hours sewing that DIAPER bag for fun! I can't wait to find out the sex of our little one so the real crafting can begin!

P.S. We are due APRIL 18TH, 2010 and couldn't be more excited!
