Greatly Anticipated

Here they are! Averie's Newborn Pics. She had these done when she was 4 days old. I just love how they turned out! Skye Johansen really did a great job. They were worth the wait. Here are a few of my favorites.

Caleb Richard Sharp

As promised, here is my new little nephew Caleb!
He is such a doll. And so tiny! He only weighed 6 pounds 3 ounces and was 19 inches long. Granted he was 3 weeks early, but he made Averie look like a giant! Both Kylee and Caleb are doing great. We just love him so much already.

One Month Already!

Our little Averie Girl is a month old today! I can't believe how fast it has gone by. Everyone told me that it would, but I never understood just how fast time would fly. Averie is growing like a weed and plumping out like a marshmallow. I am not sure how long she is exactly, but we weighed her yesterday and she tipped the scale at 8 lbs 13 ounces! She out grew her first pair of newborn jammies last night and I was pretty sad. In fact, most of her newborn stuff is getting pretty snug. Good thing we have lots of cute clothes in the next size up!

She has had a few milestones so far. We have transitioned her into the crib and so far it is going great. I was really scared at first to put her in the other room, but she has actually been sleeping better. Last night she went to bed at 8 woke up at 1:30 am to eat (and have a blow out for Daddy to change ha ha), and then she didn't wake up again until 6. I put her back to bed and she woke up at 9. What a good baby if you ask me! There were a few nights a couple of weeks ago that she was waking every 2-3 hours so this is heaven!
She is also starting to really be aware of everything and everyone around her. She recognizes voices and will turn when she hears someone she knows. She really is starting to smile more and coo. I can't wait for her to laugh or show more personality. It is so fun to watch her interact with people.
On Thursday, we are going to Denver to visit my friend Diana. Diana had her little boy, Andrew, 10 days after I had Averie. We are a little nervous, but it will be Averie's first airplane ride. I am going by myself, so wish me luck!

Well it has been an awesome month. Here's what you've been waiting for, more pictures of the "birthday" girl. Can you believe how long she looks? I think we have a future volleyball player on our hands.I seriously don't know what to do with this hair! It just sticks straight up, not to mention the "old man" hairline that she is sporting.Sergeant finally getting used to his "sister". They were so precious sleeping by each other on the couch. You'll never guess who she got her profile from...You wouldn't know it by looking at this picture, but Averie loves her baths now. There's that tongue that is ALWAYS sticking out!

Well I was going to post more pictures but I just found out that my sister, Kylee is in labor! We are leaving to Logan to go meet the little guy. Stay tuned for those pictures!

First of all...

REALLY?!?

It is almost June for crying out loud! Maybe it will be summer some time this year. Probably right when I go back to work :(

So Lost fans, what did you think of the Finale last night? I am feeling a little disappointed about it. I thought it was good, but it just didn't tie things together all the way for me. I have been re watching all the seasons since I have been home on maternity leave, and I feel like there was so much that happened that never was explained. I guess the writers never had any intention of explaining everything, but it did not end the way that I expected. I will definitely miss the show though. Now what am I going to do on Tuesday nights?
So check out my late Mother's Day gift from Brian:
I am so happy with how the fan turned out. I think it looks so much better! Before we just had a plain light setting in the room so the fan definitely dresses it up a bit. All during my pregnancy I complained about how hot the room was at night and that we could really use a ceiling fan to help keep things cool. I thought that once I wasn't pregnant anymore, I wouldn't want the fan. Well I guess my body temperature decided to stay high because I was still sweating buckets at night. Brian took me to Lowes and let me pick this one out. I am so proud of him for installing it all by himself too! Such a handy man. I guess I should keep him around!

Rainy Days

I used to think I hated rainy days. That is until this little girl came into my life!Today was a perfectly rainful day and it gave Averie and I an excellent excuse to stay in our sweats all day and not leave the house. I finally got out the baby gym today to see if Averie would be entertained. She absolutely loved it-I think. It's hard to say what a 3 week old loves. At least she was content playing for at least an hour.
Averie was so funny. She was kicking and swinging her arms around so that she would tap the rattles on the gym. She managed to knock the rattles into her face several times and yet she didn't make a peep. Her reaction to the mirror was priceless. When I first showed it to her she started crying. I guess she didn't like what she saw. Ha ha.We even did some tummy time today. Sorry that the picture isn't flipped right, but I am too lazy to flip it so just tip your head :) Surprisingly, she didn't even mind being on her stomach. Such a pleasant baby!Yup today was a good day!

Happy Late Anniversary

Thanks to my wonderful sister in law, AmyLyn, and my brother, Andy, Brian and I were able to celebrate our three year anniversary. They were sweet enough to watch Averie for a few hours so that we could go out and celebrate. We started out the day by going to a matinee movie. We went and saw the new Robin Hood movie. Don't waste your time with this one. It was not worth seeing. There was a lady sitting next to me that was snoring the entire movie just to give you an idea of how boring it was. After the movie we headed to Tuscany for dinner.Brian and I have a tradition to go out to a fancy restaurant on our anniversary. Tuscany did not disappoint! It reminded me a lot of La Caille restaurant, but it was about half as expensive. It was really nicely decorated and the food was amazing. We are big fans of Italian settings so it was easy to please us!The only complaint I have about the restaurant is that the salad that I ordered was disgusting. You know when you go to a fancy restaurant and the waitress is describing an item on the menu that is in another language? Well this waitress at Tuscany was describing one of their specials. I can't even tell you what the salad was called, but the way she described it sounded really good. She was explaining that it had organic tomatoes that were really sweet and it was delicious. I am not the hugest fan of tomatoes, but as long as they are cut up and served with something else, I will eat them. Well imagine my surprise when my "salad" came out and it was nothing but tomato slices! Oh it did have this weird goat cheese on it and some minty leaves. Not only that, but it was 13 dollars! I actually did try eating it, but I just gagged with each bite. Brian thought it was hilarious. When the waitress wasn't looking, Brian and I switched plates so it would look like I ate the salad. Ha ha. Other than the salad, my meal was amazing! I had an oven roasted chicken meal with mashed potatoes. I know, not real Italian, but it was soooo good. It was so nice to celebrate our Anniversary. Thanks AmyLyn for watching our angel. We really appreciate it!

Speaking of my little angel, Averie is 3 weeks old today! I can't believe it! Time just flies by, and I love every minute of it. Averie is such a good baby. She hardly ever cries. She has not been sleeping the best through the night, but that's expected right? She just likes to wake up every three hours and eat. 5 am is her favorite time of day. She wakes up and doesn't like to go back to sleep. I usually end up letting her sleep next to me in bed just so she will go back to sleep. I'm pretty sure that is a bad habit to get into, but for right now it works. She has discovered her tongue this past week. I have been trying to get a picture of it, but haven't been able to catch her sticking it out when I have the camera. It is so cute. She is constantly sticking it out! Other updates that were not mentioned last week is that she now weighs 7 pounds 11 ounces and is almost 21 inches long! She is growing like a champ. I love my Averie girl. Here she is in her new dress, we are attempting church today so we will see how it goes!

Wow what a weekend!

This weekend was especially crazy. Saturday was Brian and I's Three year Wedding Anniversary. It also happened to be Brian's Graduation from Utah State. Since the graduation was in Logan, we didn't have time to celebrate our anniversary. We are hoping that next weekend will give us more time to celebrate.

I am so proud of Brian for graduating. It has been a long road, but he finally did it!
Let me tell ya how much harder it is to go out of town with a baby. Oh my gosh it took me about two and a half hours to get the car packed, Averie fed, Averie changed, Averie fed again, and myself ready. It takes a little more planning, but she is still worth it! I had my sister, Kylee watch her while I went to the graduation. I was really nervous to take her with that many people around. Kylee said that she did good while I was gone, but I was freaking out a little bit. It's weird to leave her when she has been with me every day, all day for the past 10 months. I guess it is good practice to leave her once in a while to get ready for when I have to go back to work :(

Well as long as I am on the subject of little Avie girl, here are some more recent pictures.
I don't care what you think-She IS smiling at me! I don't care if she is only two weeks old. She knows how to smile :) Can you believe she is two weeks already? I certainly can't. The time is just flying by. It is so fun to see her change everyday. Her umbilical cord finally fell off this weekend so Brian has told her that she is all grown up and it's time to get a job!
Here she is sleeping all stretched out in her cute Mother's Day outfit.
And last but not least, my favorite. She just kills me when she is wide eyed. I can't get enough of this silly girl.Well in honor of Mother's Day I would also like to tell my mom how grateful I am for her, even though she decided to go to Hawaii this past week without me! She is such an awesome mom. She sacrifices so much for us kids. She has been such a huge help with Averie, and I can't thank her enough. I hope that I can be as good as a mom to Averie as she has been to me. I love you Mom! Happy Mother's Day to all you other mommies out there!
