Three Months Old

Averie is three months old! Can you believe it? We are almost completely out of the Newborn Stage. Averie is doing so great and learning so quickly. I thought that I would be sad to watch her grow up, but I am actually excited to see her learn and grow. The past month has been a little more challenging than the first two months. After Averie got her shots, it was like she figured out how to cry. She never fussed or cried very often before she got her shots. There were a couple of weeks that I was overwhelmed. She wanted to be held constantly, which I don't mind at all, but it made showering and going to the bathroom difficult. She also had a week where she started waking up in the night again. I know, I know a week of waking up. I have been so spoiled with Averie. She has been sleeping through the night since she was a month old so I really don't know what it's like to be up all night with her. Well now things are back to normal with her. She is happy again and doing great. We just love her so much and can't get enough. Her are her unofficial stats that I did myself since there was no doctor appointment this month:Weight: 12 pounds 28th percentile
Height: 24 inches 58th percentile

Here are her latest:

She will imitate you when you stick your tongue out and do the spit rumble thing. Ha ha, I don't know how to describe it but you probably know what I am talking about. Thanks Grandpa Payne for teaching her that one.
She likes to suck on her top lip and smack her tongue.
She had her first pony tail. She likes to pull up her shirt. We need to teach her to be a lady. She likes to look at herself in the mirror. Her hands are always in her mouth and if she has a hold of anything, it will be in her mouth too.I have been told she has rolled over twice, but I haven't seen it so it doesn't count to me.
She has started laughing out loud. It is so adorable.
She can fully support her head and only wobbles once in a while now.Her vision is a lot better. I can tell because she will follow me even if I am all the way across the room.
She has the craziest hair EVER! Love it!
She is more aware of Sergeant and the two are becoming best friends.
I love this girl so much! We are so glad that we have had her these past three months!

New Things

So we have been in a little bit of a home renovation mode lately. Thank you Parade of Homes and 12 weeks off work! Brian and I have lived in our cute little town home for 3 years now. It was supposed to be a "2 year home", but with the market like it is, we are stuck. We would love to sell it so let me know if you know anyone who might be interested in a 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath. Anyway on to home projects! The first project struck me when my brother and his wife redid their kitchen cabinets. You can see their success here. Well I wasn't quite as ambitious as them and I decided to start on our half bath cabinets. I wanted to see if I liked the way they turned out before I tackled the kitchen. Well let's just say it was slightly more difficult than my brother made it look. The sanding and disassembling part was a piece of cake it was the painting that was a pain in the arse. I wanted the finish to look really professional so I used a paint gun to paint them. To make a long story short, I will just tell you it took me 2 weeks to do two doors. Really! So as you can imagine, I will not be doing the kitchen anytime soon. Of course I didn't take a before picture so here is a picture of the kitchen cabinets so you can get an idea with what I started with. Here are the after shots:
I do like the way they turned out. Maybe some day I will do the kitchen. I just need some good motivation.
The next project that we decided on was to get new carpet. Disgusting does not begin to describe our old carpet. Years of wear and tear, dog accidents, food spills, gives you this:
I really should have done close up pictures of all the stains, but I don't want you to throw up.
Sergeant was really distressed through the whole process. As you can tell.
Don't you love how everything is just shoved and thrown in a corner? I can't believe we lived like this for 3 days! You know I had Grey's Anatomy playing in the background. Here is the finished product! I absolutely love the way it turned out, the color, the smell, EVERYTHING! New carpet is just the best.
Once we got the new carpet in, I realized just how disorganized my house is. Again, no before pictures. I know I am the worst and this! But just use your imagination. Imagine a corner stacked pretty much to the ceiling with crafting supplies. I tried to keep it tidy, but lets be honest, it was a wreck. I found this little beauty at Ikea. I got the drawers at Target. The whole thing cost less than 100 bucks. Wha Hoo!
Moving on to the closet. I was so sick of our shoes in piles in the closet. I found these at Target as well. SO much BETTER! I need to buy about two more of these things to house all my shoes, but for now, such an improvement.
The last project (well not THE last. Brian is still working on a couple to be mentioned later). Is the Venetian Plaster in the Office. This picture doesn't do it justice. It was still wet so it sort of looks weird. It looks really cool on the wall and it gives it a really neat textured look. Finally, not a home project, but too cute not to mention. Look who is on the move.
Well sort of. But holding your head up while on your tummy is a HUGE accomplishment when you are not even three months old.
Well I am slowly catching up on my posts. Now that I am back at work, it will be a lot harder to keep up on it, but I will do my best. Thanks for reading!

Going Back :(

I really have so much to catch up on, but today I am going to take this opportunity to feel very sorry for myself. I have to go back to work TOMORROW. I can't believe it has been 12 weeks already. It really has been the best 12 weeks of my life. I am so grateful to have such a beautiful sweet little girl. It is going to be so hard to leave her every day while I work. I don't know how I am going to get through this week. It is comforting to know that she will be in good hands with my mom for a few weeks. I am nervous to take her to daycare. I really hope that she will be well cared for. I just feel like I am going to miss out on so much. How does anyone do this? I had no idea it was going to be this hard (and I haven't even experienced it yet!). I just pray that I will get through this first week.

Sunnydays Photo Shoot

My friend Brynn is an awesome photographer. She is just starting to get serious about doing it as a profession and I think she has so much talent. Check out her website Sunny Days Photography. A couple of days ago Averie and I headed down to Santaquin for a little photo shoot with Brynn. The pictures turned out great even though Averie was less than cooperative. Averie is going through a slightly onery phase right now. Kudos to Brynn for getting some great shots of the little diva. Don't you just love them? I don't think it is possible for Averie to get any cuter!

I have so many more things to post about, but don't have the time right now. Stay tuned for "Demo Derby", "Girls Night Out" and "New Things". Exciting things to post about!

Lots of Happenings

Rodeo
The past couple of weeks have been so much fun. We have really taken advantage of the fabulous summer weather. A couple of weeks ago I went to my FIRST rodeo. Pretty sad huh? I am from Wyoming and I have never been before! Brian, Averie and I met up with my brother Andy, Amylyn, and our friends Kent, Kim, and Cletus. It was a blast. We all picked different riders for each event to keep it interesting. Sadly, I was not the best at picking the winners. I don't think any of my choices actually won. My favorite part of the rodeo was when they put dollar bills on the calves and let the kids come out in the arena and chase them. It was so funny to watch. My least favorite part was when one of the bull riders got stuck when the bull was bucking. It was so scary. He seemed to be ok, but man I bet he was hurting really bad afterward.

Going to the Pool
My sister, her three kids, and my mom came up the other day to play in the pool. Averie really likes the water as long as the wind isn't blowing and the sun isn't shining on her. I think she will enjoy it more next summer, but it was nice to get some sun finally. Don't you love our matching toes? So darling. Still haven't been able to paint her fingernails. She never opens her fists long enough to do it. Stadium of Fire
This year we were so lucky and we got to go to the Stadium of Fire. I bought the tickets back in March so we have been looking forward to it for months. I was so nervous to take Averie, but she did great. My mom was such a sweet heart and held her the entire night. Averie just slept the entire show. Some of the fireworks woke her up, but she would just go back to sleep. Carrie Underwood did awesome. It was so fun to see her perform.
You know I had to get Averie a darling outfit for the event. Here is Averie sportin my first attempt at a patriotic bow. She thought it was too big.
I agreed and I tried again. Just right!
My Birthday!
My birthday this year was so fun. My parents were nice enough to watch Averie and Sergeant so that Brian and I could enjoy some trail riding on the quads. We went up American Fork Canyon and it was absolutely perfect. The weather was nice and the views were amazing. I just love riding up in the mountains. I can't wait until next year so that Averie can come with us. After the long day of riding, we went to my parents house for dinner. My mom made us the most yummy dinner. She is such a sweet heart. After eating dinner, my brothers and I decided to dig out the old family videos. Poor Amylyn and Brian, we made them watch 2 hours of family videos. I loved it though. It was so fun to see ourselves as kids. Even though I am a year older, I have to say it was a great day.
Silver Lake
Brian and I loved Silver Lake so much when we were riding the quads on my birthday, that we decided to go back and take Sergeant and Averie. Averie was so cute. She would kick her feet in the wather and curl her toes in the sand. She loved being in the out doors. Sergeant on the other hand, was quite the stinker. He HATES to swim. I don't get it. He has always been this way, but we were hoping that maybe just maybe he would swim in the lake. He would only go in the water until it hit his chest. After that he would have nothing to do with the water.
Well as you can tell it has been a busy few days! I just love these summer activities. It is nice to be able to spend so much time with family. I hope everyone had a safe and fun holiday!
