Funny Story

So I know I am not the only person in the world who blog stalks. Admit it. You do it too! I have a few blogs that I check on from time to time that are friends of a friend. The funny thing is, I don't even know these people, but I like reading their blogs. If anything, it should just be a compliment to them right? Their life is interesting enough that a complete stranger would follow it? Ok now I really sound like a weirdo...ANYWAY, onto the funny story. So the other day I was at Carters doing some shopping with my sister in law when I saw a little girl from one of the blogs that I stalk. It was SOOO weird! It was like I knew everything about her without ever meeting her! I knew her name. I knew how old she was. I knew things that had happened recently. It was just a really weird experience. I felt like I should say "Hi, how's it going?" to her mom. Of course, then I really would look psycho because this woman obviously had no idea who I was! I guess the stalking was not mutual... This whole experience got me thinking. If I knew this much about this woman and her little girl, could someone out there that I don't know potentially know things about me and my family also? I have never really thought about making my blog private, but this experience has made me really consider it. I don't think that I have that many people looking at my blog anyway, but it is just something that might give me piece of mind. Thoughts?

I went private for that reason. I am naturally super cautious and even though I tried to never say where I was living or mention landmarks, I still decided once I had Emi that I wanted to go private. I also had a tracker on my blog and got a few random looks from china and NY and that sealed the deal. I have fewer people go to my blog since it's private, but I do it mostly for myself anyway and wanted to make sure there weren't any creepers lookin at it.

I had the same experience! (I'm embarrassed to say) I saw the whole family at Target. I wanted to be like, "So I'm glad you are recovering from your surgery, that was a scary one! And YOU just had a princess birthday!" Yes, it was super weird. :)

Wow, that is so crazy!!! I made mine private because I am the type of person that always freaks out about people looking at my kids's pictures, info and stuff like that too. It is just a lot safer and that way you have peace of mind...and you KNOW who is looking at your blog! So I recommend making it private! But it is totally up to you...I just think that is such a crazy experience you had. It's great that it made you ponder about your own privacy and stuff :-)

I think if I had little ones in my home I would think about going private, or if I thought someone was stalking me, but at my age I love having random people reading my blog and have mad so many blog friends...but I totally understand making yours private..If Lainie had a blog, I would suggest she make hers private with having Gracie now..
