Hopefully the last bit of whining

So I had to laugh. I have pretty much blog stalked everyone that I know that was having babies around the same time as me. Guess who is the only one who hasn't delivered yet?!? I should definitely get a prize for this. I can't wait to meet her. Anyway, I am starting to perk up a little bit. I saw the doctor yesterday and I still have not made any progress. He scheduled my induction for the 25th. There are some really awesome things about this day. First of all it is on a Sunday and my doctor was nice enough to do it so I would only be a week over. I was expecting to have to wait until the 26th. It is an odd number but it ends with a 5 so I am ok with it. I know, I know...Psycho! I have this thing with odd numbers though and I really wanted her to be born on an even number. Fortunately, I am ok with odds as long as they end in a 5. Really probably too much of a glimpse of my nutty side. Moving on. 25 was my jersey number in high school. I was #25 for pretty much every sport I played. So really, I have absolutely nothing to complain about. The only thing that makes me sad is that I really didn't want to have to be induced. Don't get me wrong I want her out, but I was really hoping it would happen on its own. I guess I am getting ahead of myself. I mean it still could happen any day, but it is easier to know that I will for sure have a baby in a little over a week. I guess I could wait and let it happen naturally, but lets be honest, I am not the most patient person in the world and I just don't think my body can handle much more. My last day of work is supposed to be tomorrow, but I guess I will be working another week (my poor coworkers that have to put up with me). So for those of you that have been induced, how is it? Should I be worried? I would like to hear some advice if you have any.

OH I am so sorry. Grace came a week early and I was still dying...:) That last bit IS difficult. My water broke but my body wouldn't kick into labor, so yeah they induced me. I fought it at first, but then figured it was better than waiting and waiting...(and the dr told me I could have other complications if I waited too long)
Anyway, I delivered naturally but assuming you aren't- some perks are 1)like you mentioned you know when it's coming, you decided on what time to start, etc. 2) you may not feel much at all, (i've talked to women who put the epi in, and then start the pitocin---they LOVED it.) Generally it takes longer than a natural birth (especially if it's your first) but it may not. In my case it was 8hours, and in other people I know it was less than that, so it just depends.

All in all what I felt after it was over was I spent way too much time worrying about it. It's just one day! It will be great however it happens, but just know it can still be a GREAT experience being induced. She'll be here before you know it! SO exciting! Good luck!!!

I was induced with Tori after 2 WEEKS of going over...that sucked! Being induced wasn't bad at all though. It was kind of nice knowing that there was an end in sight, they had a room ready for me, and mentally I was prepared. Poor Dan wanted the big speeding rush to the hospital though and didn't get it...oh well! Have Brian call us...we can't wait to hear!!!!!!!

youz aboutz to POP! pop pop pop... I am muy excited for you. I know how difficult it must be to relax but every night you should totally wrap yourself in pillows- put your feet up- and read a book or zone out to music. You need to zen and enjoy alone time for very VERY soon you will have no more alone time... for a very VERY long time! :) Feel better and good luck. p.s. your number weirdness is funny to me.

I was induced with all 3 of my kids.. I guess I just don't go into labor on my own?? So I don't know any different, but I love it. Everything is planned out, you csn be shaven, organized, packed, etc. I usually get started and have my baby within 6 or 7 hrs.. Which is pretty quick. I love getting induced! I'm SO EXCITED for you!! Keep us updated. Love ya.. Good luck

I was induced with 3 of my kids, actually all four, only I didn't get pit with Alli, they just broke my water with her and then had her natural. Good thing about inducing is, you arrive there all showered and ready to go with makeup and all. They hook you up and 5 hours later (all 3 were under 5 hrs) here comes your little one. The contractions are stronger with the pit so I HIGHLY recommend the epidural. I slept through the contractions with the last one, it was great:) Though having a natural deliver was an experience also. Whatever you do, just remember that at the end of it, you will have a beautiful little girl to hold and love. Can't wait to meet her:)

Your concerns and feelings are all NORMAL! 4 of my 6 were induced. Kim (#1) and Jay (#6) weren't. She was 2 1/2 weeks over and Jay was 2 weeks over. He was 10 lb.11 oz., 23"...different doctors. I liked the inductions because you KNEW things were going to happen and you could shave your legs!! Contractions are stronger, but it's worth it.

Can't wait to see her. You'll love the whole experience because she's definitely worth it. Hang in there, my neighbor just delivered w/an induction last week. She thought it was great.
